Why Everybody need to take coffee regularly
Regardless of what you call that welcoming cup of coffee, or even what kind of fancy caffeinated drink you prefer, its value to hundreds of millions is indisputable: it’s needed to get through the day. Coffee is regarded as a healthy drink that is cultivated over 80 different places across the world. It is generally roasted, as well as brewed into a dark, bitter drink, which is then, most of the time sweetened with sugar or other sweeteners. There exists certain debate around caffeine as it impacts on our bodies. But, there are lots of research which have exposed several health benefits of coffee while taken in moderation. The benefits of coffee on worker productivity have been well documented. Studies have shown that coffee can help reduce stress and recharge and re-energize employees. Overall, coffee can help to improve the general satisfaction of a company’s staff by making them more motivated, alert and, ultimately and perhaps most importantly, productive.
The National Institute of Health conducted a recent study, showing that those who drank four or more cups of coffee were 10 % unlikely to become desperate than people who don’t take coffees.
Media reports have discussed how coffee allows the brain to work in a much more efficient way. Michael Lemonick, a reporter from Time magazine and a self-professed avid coffee lover, CNN columnist Dr. Sanjay Gupta told- When you’re sleep-deprived therefore you get coffee , basically anything else you measure will certainly develop : response time, maintenance, interest, logical thought –much of the complex features you align with intelligence.
Over the years, many employers have realized the benefits of coffee and have included coffee as part of the work environment. Whether through coffee makers or coffee vending machines, employees have coffee readily available. This is correctly seen as a courtesy from the employer, but it also leads back to the higher goal of increased worker productivity. Employees won’t need to leave the office to grab a cup of coffee – saving valuable work time that otherwise would have been spent on the commute to the nearest café.
The coffee machine or employee lounge where the coffee machines can be found are also similar to the water cooler – both serve as a place of congregation for employees looking for a small mental break. After hours staring at a screen, trapped in meetings or on the phone, employees need to have a place to release stress, shoot the breeze and just casually relax. Even just a few minutes discussing last night’s game or digressing on the latest episode of “Game of Thrones” with a cup of coffee in hand is enough to rejuvenate stressed and weary employees. Which, again, leads to more worker productivity.
Other benefits to employer-provided coffee are indirect and less empirical but also valuable. Free coffee from the boss is a perk for employees. That helps to create staff loyalty and sends the message to all of them that the firm is concerned about their health care .That also means employees don’t have to spend their own money for their daily cup of joe (and who can argue with saving your own money?).
Studies and surveys have shown that employees do indeed appreciate these small perks. A recent survey showed that three out of five people feel more motivated to do their best work when there are workplace perks. A majority of them said these perks make them feel valued.
When recruiting potential new hires, mentioning and/or seeing free coffee can always be seen as a positive. Pointing out the staff lounge or kitchen and coffee maker doesn’t hurt. Obviously, it is just a small perk in the grand scheme of someone making a job decision, but subliminally, its pure value as a benefit can only help.
Additionally, when clients or guests visit, being able to offer them a cup of coffee is beneficial to the company. This simple gesture can be viewed as thoughtful common courtesy and politeness but it can also be seen by clients and guests as good and sound business practice – maybe another subliminal point to be earned when trying to close a deal, make a big sale or simply just continue the business relationship.
Long-term health benefits
As valuable as that daily pick-me-up is, or as morale-boosting as free work coffee is, the long-term health benefits are also important.
Researchers from the University of South Florida as well as the University of Miami observed that individuals older than 66 who had upper blood levels of coffee improved Alzheimer’s two to 4 years later on than other people with reduced caffeine .
Dr. Chuanhai Cao, a neuroscientist at the University of South Florida, who also co-authored the research, said, -We are not claiming that reasonable coffee intake cantotally protect persons from Alzheimer’s illness. However, we strongly feel that average coffee eating may radically decrease your risk of Alzheimer’s or even delay its start.
As both employers and employees continue to make everyday decisions, big or small, that affect their work lives, they should always take that incredible magical drink into consideration. Its benefits and effects have been well documented. Ultimately, the perks of employer-provided coffee help lead to healthy worker morale, which lead to more worker productivity, which lead to improved company profits, which then cycle back to company perks that inspire worker productivity.
